For the reading component of my senior capstone project, I read this book about social media marketing strategies by David Kelly. I gained so much knowledge about the many different ways social networks - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, and Pinterest - can be used to promote and advertise a business. I intend to study mass communications in college because I have a desire to start a career in advertising or public relations. It fascinates me how much digital marketing has grown as a marketing form. This book was published in 2016 so it contains very current information about the ever-changing world of social media and the Internet. I learned things like what type of content a business should post to attract customers, how to advertise on social media, what social network should be used for certain types of businesses, and what the different functions, pros, and cons are about several different social networks. As I read this book, I took notes and used them to write my capstone paper about digital marketing strategies for entrepreneurs. I'm very glad I selected this book to read as a research source because it provided me with so much information while still being an easy book to read and follow along with.
